We had the distinct pleasure several weeks ago to play the music of Leah Warman, multi-instrumentalist (trombone/tuba), academic and music historian (focusing on the history of Women in Jazz.)

Our conversation with Leah stretched from her time at IU Jacobs School of Music, her ability to play both trombone and tuba, and the incredible research detailing the history of Women in Jazz, an often overlooked subject.

Leah’s most recent album, Marigold, can be found here on her website!

Leah will also be giving an on-line FREE webinar “Gender Discrimination in Jazz and Jazz Historiography: Women Instrumentalists Post WWII” through the Jazz Education Network on July 11th. (click the banner below to register)

We hope you enjoy Leah’s music and our conversation with her, and as always, thank you for listening!
