Last Fall, we had the great opportunity to speak with composer/arranger, trombonist and Guggenheim Fellow, John Yao!
I’ve known John since our days back at IU in the late 1900s and since he departed the middle-west, he has been slowly and steadily building his playing, teaching, and writing career into something to be seen!
John’s latest album, Point in Time, is an excellent album with wide ranging diverse arrangements, supported by great playing by a truly exceptional big band!
John currently is Assistant Professor of Trombone at Queens College, Adjunct Assistant Professor of Music at Molloy University, and an XO Brass Artist/Clinician.
