Matthew Altizer and I are happy to announce that on April 17th, 2018 (a Tuesday) at 7:30pm in Eidson-Duckwall Recital Hall on the campus of Butler University, we will be presenting a joint recital.
We will be premiering a brand new piece we commissioned titled ‘Not From Void Or Fire’ by our friend, Mack LaMont. This is a WORLD PREMIERE!
How did this come about?
In June of 2017 Matthew came to the understanding that something was missing in his life. When he realized that performing on a stage was the thing he needed to add back into his life, he told me all about it and asked how could he get back on stage. My idea? A joint recital of course! So I went about scheduling a factually recital at Butler University and Matthew and I contacted Mack about the new piece, and the rest is history!
In addition to our commissioned piece, Matthew will be playing ‘Light of Sothis’ by Amy Quate. I will be playing ‘5 Pieces for Bass Trombone and Brass Quartet’ by Nelson Riddle. I’ll also be doing several duets with Jared Rodin (also on the faculty at Butler University). Jared will present an unaccompanied piece by Brent Wallarab, and ‘Elegy’ by Alfred Bartles.
The evening will be a lot of fun and quite diverse in sounds and ensemble size. We hope that everybody will enjoy what we have prepared!

Wish I could be there. Great concept! Dee
