A treasure trove of playing was recorded at Butler University in 2006, unbeknownst to the duo on stage. The duo setting suits both musicians, Mark Buselli on trumpet and the late great Claude Sifferlen on piano, fluidity and ability very well.

Claude was a mainstay in the Indianapolis scene playing duo/trio/quartet gigs with his long-time musical partner, clarinetist Frank Glover. For those of us who made the weekly pilgrimages to the Chatterbox Jazz Club, The Jazz Kitchen, or Maria’s pizza, the intense creative energy was palpable. Everyone in attendance knew they were witnessing greatness. When Frank had to sub out a night he would call Mark Buselli. Mark and Claude both had a sense of the musical phrase and timing that blended well together.

That blending is evident throughout this entire record, “Live at Butler University”. Sit back and enjoy this amazing music! With each sale of this recording, all proceeds will be donated to the Indianapolis Jazz Foundation! Thank you Mark!
